Spoilers Updated Sep 27, 2026
Full story spoilers below. Stop here if you have not finished Fight to the Core / The End. Progression order without ending spoilers: Where to go next.
What the finale quests are
- Fight to the Core — reach the Hedron (Unknown / Red Sand Island route) and break its core across shifting arenas.
- The End — finish the entity after the first “victory,” including the mental / kill-switch beat.
- The Beginning — post-credits epilogue: visit Jesse in the Oldest House.
What happens in the ending
Dylan destroys the Hedron’s physical form, then learns it has rooted itself in his mind. A kill-switch device (MCD) is triggered to stop him transforming; he tears it off and ends the fight by taking control of the Hiss resonance inside him. Killing the Hedron would also kill Dylan because the entity is bound to him.
Jesse intervenes with the Slide Projector — the sibling device from their childhood. Instead of a simple merge, she swaps places with Dylan. The Hedron dies. Dylan lives. Jesse collapses into a coma.
What happens to Jesse?
Jesse does not die on-screen. She survives unconscious — a deliberate reverse of the first CONTROL ending, where Dylan was the sibling left comatose. The FBC keeps her in Dylan’s old medical cell in the Oldest House under Emily Pope.
The Beginning (epilogue)
After the credits, Dylan wakes as an FBC consultant with paperwork restoring his legal personhood. The quest The Beginning sends him to Executive Research. Speak with Emily beside Jesse’s bed; Dylan vows to find a way to wake her. The crisis is not fully over — Hiss and Mold remain in Manhattan, and unfinished quests / World Feats stay available.
How to read it
- Dylan’s question — “where is Jesse?” — is answered: she is alive, found, and unreachable for now.
- The ending mirrors CONTROL’s sibling coma beat with the roles flipped.
- Remedy leaves the door open for whatever comes next for the Fadens.
