CONTROL Resonant escort Rangers is the approach to The Co-Director (Unknown Resonant) at the patterned Field Office. Zoe / Arish radio a Rangers distress call once you’re exploring the Unknown with Gravity Wells active. Reward: Command (turn an enemy into a temporary ally). You cannot reach the fight until Pope’s Research spawns Gravity Wells.

Prerequisites

  1. Story into Sever the Hedron Links / Unknown via Oldest House Roof Access.
  2. Finish Pope’s Research far enough for Gravity Wells and map navigation.
  3. Shift / Reach strongly recommended for island routes.

Escort Rangers route

  1. Near the Evac Building / Unknown 7, ride the yellow-car Gravity Well vortex toward the Field Office island.
  2. Get to the Rangers — clear the warehouse fight; trapped FBC Rangers regroup with you.
  3. Advance with the Rangers — follow them through patterned streets and enemy packs.
  4. Disrupt the Pattern — four floating security booths; hit / Launch the one that’s out of sync (repeat until the checkpoint clears).
  5. Open the Gate — carry electricity between power cubes (relay mid-path; you can’t hold the charge the whole way in one go).
  6. Bypass the next gate via rooftops; survive the ambush (Rangers rejoin).
  7. Enter the Field Office elevator with the Rangers → portal → boss.

Fight approach

  • The fight is timed — a Command takeover meter fills; you can’t fully stop it.
  • Co-Director mind-controls Rangers (and summons) against you — avoid summon builds here; falter turned Rangers for executions / health.
  • Save Power for burst windows; Assist Mode is fine if patterned adds overwhelm.
  • After the win, Command joins the kit with no alternate pick.

What Command does

Command converts a stronger enemy into a temporary ally mid-fight — strong for elite packs and chaotic finales. Spend any Resonant Token from Pope at The Gap if you still want a skipped ability from an earlier Resonant.
