CONTROL Resonant Switch Attack — How It Works & Not Working Fix

Combat tip Updated Oct 9, 2026

CONTROL Resonant Switch Attack replaces your normal primary combo finisher with a secondary-weapon finish — morph the Aberrant mid-string instead of starting a new attack. Useful for mixing Falter, range, or crowd control from Crush / Extend / Drill into a melee combo.

Input Primary → Primary → Primary → Secondary (not another primary). On PlayStation: three Square, then Triangle. The secondary tap is the finisher — do not complete the normal primary finisher first.

How to do a Switch Attack

  1. Unlock the Switch Attack upgrade on the secondary form you have equipped (Crush, Extend, or Drill each have their own).
  2. Land exactly three primary hits.
  3. Press secondary attack immediately (tap — Hammer Shift / Crush switch cannot be charged).
  4. Watch for the secondary Switch animation instead of the usual primary finisher.

Secondary Switch upgrades (reported)

  • Crush — Hammer Shift — high Falter / knockdown; not chargeable
  • Extend — Ritual Comeback — step-back wide hit
  • Drill — Suppression — builds Weaken and knocks the target away

Switch Attack not working?

  • Confirm the Switch skill is unlocked on the current secondary — a Switch talent on the primary tree is not enough
  • Use exactly three primaries, then secondary — no dodge in between
  • Don’t finish the normal primary finisher, then press secondary
  • Tap secondary; holding for a charged Crush is a different move
  • Dodge Attack upgrades can steal the input — test in The Gap Arena without dodging
